Any professional artist knows this brand and it is a good one. Strong pure colors. The blue is more "runny" than the others and I'm not sure why, but it is a good cobalt color. I am pleased with the strength and purity of the colors and the quality is pure M. Graham, ie excellent.

This paint flows over your paper and blends so evenly. The colors are very deep and rich. You dont have to load your brush up with very much paint to get a deep dark colors or bright ones.

The tubes are very nice quality, they're a bit larger than the typical 12-14ml (being 15ml themselves). The pigments are bright and very concentrated, but I'll have to pipe in as the third person mentioning the blue pigment. It's very noticeably runnier than the other tubes. However it doesn't ruin the set. You're supposed to add water to the paint, that's why the tubes are so small - a little paint goes a long way with some water. It just makes the blue less valuable since you have less paint in the tube than the other ones since there's more water in the tube. Despite the runniness of the blue - the pigment is very bright and strong. For the price of what you're getting I'm very satisfied.

I just got these today and I have to say that they are great! I think that these are much superior to their watercolors whose honey is just too thick that they never dry.One big flaw about this set though, is that the Cobalt Blue is a very watered down blue. The Cobalt Blue has the most expensive pigment out of the set... so to make things cheaper, M. Graham had decided to water this color down so bad that it is watery when you open it, instead of their usual buttery texture - and to me that is just messed up because you can't use it like you would use the rest of the set.

This set is great for several reasons. 1) Tube gouache sets are really hard to find online at all. 2) M Graham gouaches are known to be some of the best quality out there. 3) If I bought these colors individually it would have cost around three times what I spent on Amazon. 4) The three closest "primary" colors are included in this, plus black and white (it doesn't actually say the colors in the product description). I wish they sold more M Graham gouache sets on Amazon!

The product description just says "primary colors." The colors included are Azo Yellow (PY 151), Naphthol Red (PR 112), Cobalt Blue (PB 28), Titanium White (PW 6), and Ivory Black (PBk 9). (I don't use the black, but even without it this is still a pretty good deal).I really like the quality of the M. Graham paints in general. The use of honey is a nice authentic touch, and the paints seem to contain a very high ratio of pigment. They make it very easy to get a saturated hue without layering too much and building up the waxy finish I have noticed in some other paints. The other review may be correct about the dilution of the cobalt blue. Mine seems to have a higher ratio of water then the other tubes. I am unfamiliar with the individually sold tubes, so I cannot say for sure if this is specific to the set or a problem with the color across the line. I can say, however, that the pigment still appears to be pure so while you might run through the tube quicker it should not diminish the quality of your work because of it. Also, the pigments are single pigments in most of the M. Graham line, so they should mix just fine with other brands if you want to pick up another brand of cobalt blue.

same high quality, lightfast pigments used in our Oil, Acrylic and Watercolors. Exceptional tinting strength, working properties and extremely opaque, matte ..
