I bought this to use with the Shiva paint sticks for a fabric project. Followed some instructions on their website and got the results I wanted. Will buy more.

I love these rubbing plates and have since ordered several more patterns. They are sturdy enough to allow consistent pattern even with slight variations in pressure. The Curves series are beautiful and work well for background details as well as highlighted on fabric pieces. I found that pastels, crayons, and even soft lead worked really well with the Cedar Canyon plates. I highly recommend them.
