Numbers Sound Puzzle; Ages 2 & Up; no. LCI339 Purchaser Reviews

Numbers Sound Puzzle; Ages 2 & Up; no. LCI339 Purchaser Reviews
This is a great tool to help in learning numbers, the interactive aspects of the product allow for children to retain the information a little easier than just repeating after someone. One thing to note sometimes the puzzles with randomly go off, it happens pretty rarely but just wanted to point that out so those purchasing don't think they have a possessed puzzle :)

My daughter loved this product. She used it over and over again. I wish they would create a product that had numbers from 21 to 100. Highly recommended for children with Autism or speech delays.

As the other review stated, we own many of these sound puzzles and love them. However, the batteries came out a long time ago! If you see the same puzzle without the sound for cheaper, get that. These things were going off all the time! We have one of the animal puzzles as well and it would really freak me out to hear the kitten noise in the middle of the night. The sound goes off with the sun, lights on and off and when the batteries are going dead. My son loves these just as much without the sound and I still highly recommend getting them! They really help with overall education as well as fine motor development. On another note, Our oldest dog starting having these anxioty attacks out of no where! It took us months and several vet trips to find out what was wrong. Turns out that when we were gone all day, and during the night during a vacation, these puzzles were talking on and off. He was freaking out like you wouldn't believe! After I took the batteries out and a few weeks of not hearing anything, he is now back to normal. Who would have thought???

my 23 month old son fell in love with this puzzle even without the batteries in yet. once i added sound, he liked it even more. there are problems with this puzzle however. the sound chips seem to be activated by light. so if the sun comes through the window, the puzzle activates itself and you hear "1 ladder 1 ladder 1 ladder" out of nowhere? kinda spooky in the middle of the night when a door opens or you turn on a light. and they even go off by moving your hand over them reaching for an entirely different number-- "3 birds 3 birds 2 fish..." just odd. they really need to work on this feature.the first puzzle stopped working after 6 hours and needed to be returned. the second one seems to be holding up. the man's voice is pleasant and sounds real opposed to some of the other samples in the other puzzles.my husband wants to return it but my baby enjoys it so much we have to keep it. he was counting to 21 (skipping 5 and 15) before the puzzle. but not as consistently, and without prompting, until we had the puzzle. so the learning experience has been worth the annoyances.in the future however, we will probably choose the quiet puzzles. this company makes so many incredible products without sound and we own many. i recommend at least trying them and if one doesn't work, just exchange and/or return it.

I'm so disappointed in this product. My great grandmother purchased this for my 2 year old and it's really a disgrace to the Melissa and Doug brand. The construction is fine but the sound doesn't function properly at all. You can just wave your hand over the puzzle and it'll shout a number. My daughter will go to put the number 12 on the board and as she's moving it over 16, it says "16" and she just looks at me like, "am I wrong, or is this thing broken?". We've since taken the batteries out so she doesn't wind up confused. She already knew 1-10 and about half of her teens and we don't need this thing screwing things up.

Excellent 'hands on' learning resource for infants, toddlers, and young children - especially grandchildren! Fun to watch children discover and explore through learning processes.

This puzzle seems like a great idea, but the audio is triggered by light sensor. This make the puzzle say the number when you put the piece in the slot, but it also causes the puzzle to call out any number your hand shadows. It can easily confuse a child trying to learn his/her numbers.

This toy is a great enhancement for my teaching numbers to a three year old. She caught on really fast and I beleive it is because it speaks to her.
