My review is ultimately incomplete because I have not tested the actual wash-ability claims of this market set on various materials.However, these serve my needs really well because I was after a very low odor, non toxic market to make cheese markers and label some high end food. Having that headache-inducing marker smell wafting around is not exactly appealing; the only weird odor that should be competing for my attention is the stinky cheese!I was chuffed to bits that I couldn't detect any odor at all. (Markers marketed for food-safe or edible use are notoriously overpriced and undependable; they may not easily smear but if they dry out immediately, what's the point?)The tips on this set are, for my purposes, ideal to label specialty food storage paper. They're not super fine point, but they're not the really wide tip kids-only type. I can fit quite a few characters in a very small space with nice definition of letters. The colors are true, vibrant. They are nice and moist and shouldn't dry out quickly.Because these are more slim, they're not the best option for the under-4 yrs crowd.And though I'm remiss to say I don't know if Johnny's masterpiece can be scrubbed from the dining room wall, this is a fun, affordable non toxic market set for old and young alike.
