Schmincke Mussini Resin Oil Color Translucent Magenta 35ml tube Buyer Review

I just started using these paints again after researching them. Schmincke oils are stored for three months before the tubes are filled. This allows each pigment's oil absorption rate (the amount of oil needed to bind the pigment) to be optimized. Varying amounts of damar resin are then added to ensure that all colors dry at the same time. This guarantees tension-free and durable color layers.I don't know what to say, but they seem to dry faster than other oils. Maybe it's the resin in them, because when I used Damar they dry even faster. I am not saying they dry too fast, and you can always use linseed with them.The resin in Mussini really makes them unlike any other paint, and they are a buttery joy to paint with. The have a very good pigment load, similar to Old Holland or Williamsburg, which makes them an excellent value and makes beautiful glazes. I never thought I would enjoy paint more than Old Holland, and or Williamsburg, and was willing to pay the price, which is hefty. These paints are worth every penny.The resin in them makes them "glow." If you want a paint that is stronger and glossier, (not too glossy,) then these are your paints. If you don't like that, I would try them anyway, as specialty paint, just for the great experience.I just got this color and haven't even tried it yet, but I will be back to tell you how it goes.
