You can't find a better price on a similar brush. One of the most important factors of a paint brush, to me, is the bristle retention. (I have no idea what it's actually called - but that's what I call it.) You know, the rate at which the bristles come out. I absolutely hate it when I spend most of my time picking hairs out of a painting, rather than painting. This is a major factor with cheaper brushes. This brush has very good bristle retention. I lost more bristles while cleaning the brush than I did while painting - and even then, it wasn't a noticeable amount. I've used this brush countless times since purchasing it, and it's still one of the favorites I always reach for. I am very hard on brushes, so I don't spend a lot of money on them. Since I use them for mixed media, there's no telling what I'll expect from them - their use certainly isn't limited to painting! This brush spreads glues, watercolors, acrylics, gauche, and ink, equally well. I'm sure it doesn't perform like a $50 brush - but I wouldn't know for sure, since I wouldn't ever purchase a $50 brush. I have to recommend it, since it stands up to my abuse - which says something. :)
