Boise Fireworx Color Copy/Laser Paper, 24 lb, Letter Size (8.5 x 11), Combustible Orange, 500 Sheets (MP2241-TE) Shopper Reviews
Nice quality, nice color, nice price - what to complain about? Used for flier to advertise pumpkin patch. Happy Halloween!
- BFR

It's standard copy paper, only -- bright! Exactly what I was looking for to make flyers that couldn't be missed.
- N Stroud

Bought this paper to make graduation announcements for my son. At first I thought I bought card stock but when I realized it was paper, I bought black card stock and cut this orange paper a little smaller to fit giving it a layered look. Worked great in my printer and turned out beautifully. Highly recommend.
- Rsquared00

Bright color and good in copy machine. I would recommend this paper, the weight of the paper is heavier than standard copier paper.

Walnut Drawing Ink (True Sepia Tone) 10 ounce Buyer Review

Walnut Drawing Ink (True Sepia Tone) 10 ounce Buyer Review
This hard to find ink is an absolute joy to work with! Too bad it's so hard to find at most art supply stores. I've only been able to find it at Utrecht, which can only be found in major cities. Any other inks I've tried seem to fail in comparison! The sepia tone remains consistent when applied as a wash on watercolor paper. I've tried this with Winsor & Newton "nut brown" ink and saw traces of purple and yellow, which was undesirable. It dries quickly, allowing for quick layering. I like to mix a little india ink in with the washes to created a darker tone for the shadows.

Badger Air-Brush Company 1/4-Ounce Color Cup for Model 350 Only Buyer Reviews

Badger Air-Brush Company 1/4-Ounce Color Cup for Model 350 Only Buyer Reviews
I needed a color cup for my Iwata Revolution HP-SAR to convert from bottle feed to cup feed - read somewhere that the Badger cups would work ... they do. This 350 cup was a perfect fit for the Iwata. The cup's quality is outstanding as you would expect from Badger. The angled pipe allows you to adjust for level in different brush attitudes. I'm pleased with the purchase.
- D. Morgan "Neo's Dad"

I use a dual action airbrush from Central Pneumatic (Harbor Freight), the supplied cup is "just okay." The supply tube on the badger comes down nearly to the bottom of the inside of the cup, allowing for much smaller batches of paint than the Central Pneumatic's cup. This does, however, make it a bit harder to clean - you'll need to get under that feed tube to get all of the paint out, so pick up a few airbrush cleaning brushes, they're cheap and effective. All in all, a cheap way to greatly improve a cheap airbrush setup.
- Nik

I saw a review for a cheap airbrush I bought - it said these would work on it. They do work and they are made better than cup that came with the cheap airbrush. If I upgrade to a nice Badger airbrush (like the 350), I'll already have color cups.
- Ken S.

I have been using a Badger 155 Anthem for a number of years now and found using the included metal paint cup difficult because of the angle it hangs from the brush. To keep the cup level, your range of motion is limited. I read on Don's Air Brush tips that this cup would also fit the Anthem. It's curved stem brings the cup closer to the body at an angle which allows more range of spraying. Even so, I recommend getting the plastic cap to cover the top for worry free spraying.

TCP Global® Brand Fine 190 Mesh Nylon Premium Grade Paint Strainers, Pack of 50 Strainers, Great for Automotive, Craft, Hobby & All Painting Projects Purchaser Reviews

TCP Global® Brand Fine 190 Mesh Nylon Premium Grade Paint Strainers, Pack of 50 Strainers, Great for Automotive, Craft, Hobby & All Painting Projects Purchaser Reviews
Met expectations. Note that this is a much finer strainer than you might expects, good for solvent (lacquer) paints. Too fine for acrylic.
- dave

The screen is polyester, the filter is very heavy paper. It holds shape well and and does a great job of screening paint/stain/finishes. I test by wasting a little regular paint and putting various types of sawdust in it and then straining. It took out all the regular sawdust and the only thing left behind was some powdered graphite - which is as fine as talcum powder and won't gum or clog even an air brush. These things are worth the money - buy a bundle.
- C. B. Farley "DeadGuy"

Strains the paint so that it does not clog up the sprayer. Does what it is supposed to. Works fine.
- Dale

They definitely get used before pouring paint into my gun and they definitely keep the dirt out. They CAN be washed after use (run water through the filter and over the fabric), air dried, and then used again. However, don't expect more than a few more uses out of them after that as the fabric doesn't exactly repel water and wears pretty quickly with multiple uses. But hey, you get a lot of filters!
- Mr. Ralph

I'm not going to lie- at first glance I thought these things were some kind of Conehead memorabilia. :)Actually what these things do -and do REALLY well- is filter the dirt of the paint, so your paint job will be really smooth and look beautiful when it's complete. Now that's what I call a product well made.
- B. E Jackson

I use this for straining my House Of Kolors paint and primer before I put it in the guns. What can I say it works great. I was even able to clean it off and use it again.
- A. Nelson

This was a gift for someone else. They really like it, but realized they need more tools than they had to use it.
- On-the-go- gal

When you're using a spray gun, you're constantly filling your gun and it's nice to have a new filter each time. Having a large pack of these handing is the way to go.
- C. Girard

It was nicely wraped and I received it in good conditions. The product is good and I recommend it. I just expect it to be a little bit thick.
- Sueli

Nice strainers. Firm paper. Strainer fabric does the job. I do a lot of fine finish work in urethane, oils and latex

Happy Birthday, Michael Jackson: Remembering the 'King of Pop'

Bethonie Butler

Michael Jackson would have been 55 today. The King of Pop died four years ago, but his music and legacy live on. Heres a look at some of the best Post coverage of Jacksons life and death, starting with a 1988 review of Jacksons performance at the Capital Centre.

Michael In Motion: Jackson Dazzles, Surprises at Capital Centre, Oct. 14, 1988

Michael Jackson is the Body Electric.

At Capital Centre last night, he proved so interesting to watch that he could have sounded like Tiny Tim and nobody would have complained.Well, almost nobody, and since he sounded just likeMichael Jackson,it all worked out in the end.

For all the good singing -- and there was plenty of that -- it always seems to come back to movement and emotion with Jackson. He is a dancer beyond compare, the embodiment of the perpetual motion principle, seemingly boneless, with lubricating oil in his veins. This is a man with more moves in a night than Nationwide has in a year. You could hate him, but you couldn't take your eyes off him. Richard Harrington

Michael Jacksons Musical Legacy Will Endure, June 26, 2009

Try, for a moment, to separate the art from the artist. Consider Michael Jackson's entertainment proffer in a vacuum-sealed space.

In that bubble, where Bubbles and all the peculiarities and plastic surgeries matter not one whit, you will find a man -- and, if you go back far enough into the archives, a child -- who was unquestionably one of the most transcendent performers in popular music.

He was Elvis with an androgynous tenor, Sinatra with a moonwalk and killer pop instincts, Prince with more mass appeal, John, Paul, George and Ringo with high-water pants, white socks and a single, sequined glove.

Jackson was a singular talent, even if he was sometimes derivative. He sang like Frankie Lymon by way of Smokey Robinson and Diana Ross, though his soulful, ingratiating voice sounded original and distinctive; to this day, it remains one of the most easily recognizable voices in the world. J. Freedom du Lac

For Black America, Jackson Broke Barriers Long Before Thriller, June 26, 2009

He was but a 14-year-old child in 1972, and black mothers and aunts and big sisters in the ghettos of the nation seemed to pull that child to their bosoms. He was a little brother; he was a precious boy; he was like the prodigy in your own church. There he was on "American Bandstand" and on "Soul Train." The early '70s actually represented some beautiful times in America -- freedom rising, integration building and little Michael singing on the hand-held radio. Little Michael with the prettiest and fluffiest Afro in the land.

Throughout the years, he claimed covers of Ebony and Jet magazines. And even when his life had begun to take on tawdry dimensions, black America refused to abandon him. It was as if they knew the pain that had greeted so many child performers, black or white. Wil Haygood

Kuretake Sumi Brush Pen Shopper Reviews

Kuretake Sumi Brush Pen Shopper Reviews
This is one of those products that makes you smile - the quality is outstanding. The line it produces is smooth, variable, everything you want in a brush pen. Amazon categorizes it as a "toy" - it isn't.I assume the cap will keep it from drying out. If not, I'll post a follow up.
- S. Smith

If you don't mind using water based inks which run and smudge and are very fragile in general, this is a fantastic pen. However, if you like to use your own waterproof inks, or a special brand of ink, look elsewhere. It's a real shame that such a fine pen is hindered by the lack of a simple tiny piece of plastic, which could easily be mass produced with this pen. I guess it is Kuretake's desire to sell ink refills is too large to allow it. At the bare minimum, if this is their need, they could also sell some waterproof inks in addition to the water-based line. Although i'm going to like my own inks more, every time.I lucked out and managed to get a Sailor Profit Brush pen, which is no longer being made (sad to say), which allows the use of my own inks and is a dream come true. It even has a better build quality than the Kuretake. Some people say they have managed to pair the Kuretake with some Lamy Ink converters with some success, but results vary if you search around the web. This pen would easily be a 5 with an ink converter. I gave it a 4, as it is a very good quality pen with a quality brush and some may not care about the lack of waterproof inks.
- A. Gornick

Great product! I love it!! It writes clean and beautiful the box is cool to keep. The pen is nice and sleek. A must have product.
- Mia

Recently I have been investigating really great new pens. I quite enjoyed using this pen and added on a Lamy 24 Converter that sorta fits well, and I can use India ink with the pen for all sorts of great new sketches.Definitely a good purchase.Al
- Al S. "Al"

As an illustrator, this serves as an valuable tool in my arsenal of pens and brushes. It's my go to toy when starting a new project. But with that being said, I'm already looking to buy a third one within a year and a half. Now perhaps the blame is on me for not cleaning it weekly, but I feel I use it often enough that it shouldn't have to be cleaned so often.
- D. Hamue

I researched all of the brush pen's on the market, and it came down to the Kuretake Sumi pen and the Pentel pen. I bought both, but I use the Kuretake brush pen almost exclusively (the Pentel is in my travel case).
- Dimitrios

I bought this calligraphy brush pen for a student who is studying Chinese in college. She found it to be excellent. She seems quite pleased with it and sent me a thank you note in Chinese characters using the pen.
- J. Knight

While i don't think the Kuretake brush pen can replace my inking when it comes to full length projects, it is the best tool i have found in a long time. I can take it with me wherever i go and still ink from my sketchbook. It makes nice fluid lines,(don't go too fast as the ink needs some time to flow and you will have a faded line)and it can vary from extremely thin to extremely thick. The brush keeps a nice tip and is very versatile. I have had no problems with this brush pen and recommend it to anyone looking to ink on the go. Its portability allows me to practice much more often while maintaining the feel of a brush.
- penboy

East meets West with this multipurpose fusion of pen and brush. As the other reviewers have already stated there undying "love" for this pen. I too find myself a loyal subject. Since this was my first ever blended-hair brush pen I really had no knowledge, experience and/or expectations. However the raving reviews fueled my need to purchase. As it travelled to its final destination I worried...Did I pay too much?...Are there better pens out there?...Will I like the ink?...Do I have to pay the return shipping fee?...And mostly...if there is no ink converter and I hate the ink???First off this pen is a dream. The ink is a deep, rich, smooth, matte black. I have used it on various surfaces (sumi, marker, watercolor, etc. Paper) all with sensational results. Because the tip is strands of individual hairs and not a felt tip (like typical brush markers) the pen is very similar to a watercolor brush in strand and diameter, yet shorter by half in actual brush length. The diameter being close to the size of a #2 or # 3 paint brush (0.2 cm). The length of just the brush is 0.9 cm (total length 13.5 cm) which allows a greater control for details, drawing and calligraphy. I am a sumi-e hobbyist and was looking for a travel/detail pen to sketch with. I use to use my brush tip markers but never could get that brush-like look. With this pen I can get the textures and strokes that are unique to hair brushes and the control and convenience of a pen. I now use the pen for many things, including but not limited to, miniature sumi-e paintings, adding fine details to my larger paintings and even for writing. AND NOW FOR THOSE OF YOU WANTING TO SKIP ANOTHER RAVING REVIEW....INK CONVERTER IS AVAILABLE.It's called the Platinum Fountain Pen Converter and I found it on "Jetpens" (I check with Amazon cuts.svc. If I could say this since the site adver. w/Amazon). So don't shy way from this pen if that is a concern. You can now have your pen and your ink too.
- GIA's Mom "Judi"

The instant I tried this pen I fell in love with it. It is absolutely fantastic. The few complaints I've read are about the ink, but personally I've found the ink to be fine. I've gone through a number of different inks over the past couple of years, including Higgins grey swill and, most recently, a bottle of sumi ink. The Kuretake ink is a good solid black which dries very quickly. I haven't had it smear. It isn't waterproof, but I don't usually draw in the rain. It dries perfectly flat and matte, unlike the sumi ink which is a little glossy and sits on top of the paper (not that that's necessarily a bad thing). It's probably against Amazon policy to link to my page showing what I've done with the pen, but if you Google my name and "Kuretake" it should show up, and you can read my longer and more glowing review.

Who Is Hyon Song-wol? Kim Jong-un's Ex-Girlfriend Executed By Firing Squad ...

A purported ex-girlfriend of North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Un was reportedly executed by a firing squad last week.

A report from South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo suggests that Hyon Song-wol, believed to be Kims ex-girlfriend, was among 12 people machine-gunned Aug. 20 by a firing squad, The Telegraph reports. Hyon was a singer in North Koreas Unhasu Orchestra.

Hyon was one of 12 people arrested on Aug. 17 for an alleged violation of North Koreas anti-pornography laws, Chosun Ilbo reports. The 12 individuals were reportedly executed three days later, with their families and performers from North Koreas most famous music groups forced to watch the display.

They were executed with machine guns while the key members of the Unhasu Orchestra, Wanghaesan Light Band and Moranbong Band as well as the families of the victims looked on, a Chinese source reportedly told Chosun Ilbo. The families have since been transferred to prison camps.

Hyon and the other 11 individuals were all associated with the Unhasu Orchestra or the Wanghaesan Light Music Band, The Telegraph reports. According to reports, Hwon and her colleagues were accused of filming themselves performing sex acts, and then attempting to profit from the videos. Unhasu and Wanghaesan are believed to have disbanded in the wake of the executions.

Kim Jong-un purportedly met Hyon about 10 years ago, while his father, Kim Jong-il, was still in power. Kim Jong-il disapproved of the relationship, and ordered Kim Jong-un to break up with the singer, The Telegraph reports. Hyon would eventually get married to a North Korean army officer, but reports suggest that she continued to see Kim after the wedding.

Kim is currently married to Ri Sol-ju, who also performed as a member of the Unhasu Orchestra, The Telegraph reports. Ris connection to the group prompted some to suggest that she balked at Kims ongoing affair with Hyon.

Hyon was a popular singer throughout the 2000s, and was particularly well-known for producing patriotic ballads, The Telegraph reports. Her biggest hits include Footsteps of Soldiers, I Love Pyongyang, and "Excellent Horse-Like Lady."

Pebeo Porcelaine 150 China Paint Cloisonne 20-Milliliter, Ming Blue User Review

Pebeo Porcelaine 150 China Paint Cloisonne 20-Milliliter, Ming Blue User Review
I was a little skeptical about buying this after reading many reviews stating that these type of paints tend to chip or crack. And they are right- if you don't make the proper preparations the paint will not stick at all and flake off everywhere. After a couple of failed attempts and some research, I think I've got the process down and I'm really enjoying the results. There are three key things I discovered along the way to making these paints work.First: Wipe down whatever you are going to paint thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. After you touch an area you intend to paint, do it again. If there is anything at all under the paint it will come off.Second: Let it dry for at least a day (or preferably longer). The paint will seem completely dry after an hour or so, and it may be tempting to throw it into the oven early. Don't. The paint really does need at least 24 hours to cure properly, or else it gets brittle after it is cooked.Third: After you cook your pieces for the directed time, turn off the oven but leave them in. Crack the oven open to allow heat to escape slowly, but do not take your pieces out. This allows them to cool slowly. If they cool too fast, the paint seizes a bit and pulls away from the surface. I left mine in the open oven until they were cool enough for me to touch with bare hands. This may sound like a lot to keep in mind, but the results are completely worth the effort!

Edible Veggie Sidewalk Chalk - Made with Real Fruits and Veggies Buyer Reviews

Edible Veggie Sidewalk Chalk - Made with Real Fruits and Veggies Buyer Reviews
My toddler is at teething age. We were introducedTo wee can too art products (finger paintAnd crayons) when he was 9Months old. He now loves to colorWith sidewalk chalk so I thought this would work out well.Pros: The colors are vivid and they are quite chalk like. Also, since theyre madeWith rice cereal and fruits and vegetables, its not terrible if my little one puts them in his mouth.Cons: the chalk basically crumbles when drawing with it--it doesnt go on smooth like traditional chalk; its more like colored crumbling sand. Also, the sticks of chalk are not really durable--or, more appropriately, toddler proof. A drop of the chalk is going toLand it in several pieces. Also, they need to be stored pretty air-tight otherwise they break down faster while drawing.
- scorpizious "scorpizious"

My 18 month old daughter loves this chalk. She also loves to put everything and anything into her mouth, so I love that I don't have to worry about her doing that with this product. Good buy.
- EJRN

Works awesome for what it's made for but don't try it on a blackboard, it doesn't write on it! :)
- Teresa

It is nice to know that I bought a safe and edible item for my daughter that puts things in her mouth all the time. But don't leave these out in the rain cause they will be almost completely gone (Im not surprised with this) and they all arrived broken.
- Erin Clark

If you're looking for sidewalk chalk that can be consumed by a toddler (accidentally of course) while also being used to make art, then this is a great product. The five pieces are thick and easy for a toddler's grasp. The colors are vibrant. However, the drawn artwork will fade and turn white after being in the sun and light rain for a couple of days. The shapes I drew on the sidewalk are still visible, albeit white, 4 days after I drew them. During those 4 days, there was typical Seattle rain and some sunshine. There's no blue color, which would simply be a nice feature. The chalk has held up well after being tossed on the sidewalk by my toddler despite how many times I said, "gentle". The resealable bag is handy.
- Angela

This item does not work. We tried using it and you are unable to make out the color or see any writing. I really wanted to like this item since it is made with fruit and veggies!
- JuJu

This is very good sidewalk chalk. Before I received it, I thought it might not perform the same as regular chalk, since it is plant based. I'm happy to say that you can't tell the difference. It's nice to know that I don't need to worry if one of my kids gets some chalk in their mouth (also nice to see that it's made in the USA).
- Jason Schroeder

I love these! I have a 17 mth old who puts everything in his mouth. With these I don't have to worry so much about that as the ingredients are organic. They are good colors and work great on our sidewalk...I would recommend!
- Niners

Perfect for a baby/toddler who will put chalk in their mouths! We loved this chalk so much, will be ordering the spiral colored version soon. The pink, purple, and yellow colors were extremely vibrant (the green and orange colors are a bit dull). The chalk also lasts a long time on the sidewalk, even through rain. Doesn't stain clothing either!
- Jess

like most parents who buy this product, i was drawn to the naturalness of the ingredients. however, this chalk does not work. it is actually terrible. the yellow is the only color that is vibrant at all--you can't even see the purple or pink when you draw with them. worse though, is the fact that this chalk is very crumbly. on first use one cracked in half, after that, they all start to crumble apart with the slightest pressure. then you're left with a pile of chalk crumbs. oh yeah, and that whole, "doesn't get on your hands" thing is totally untrue. back to crayola for us.

Georgian Oil Color Cadmium Yellow Pale Hue 225ml Buyer Review
Man, I seem to use a lot of yellow, especially for mixes! The large tube is great (economical) and Georgian colors are consistent both in hue and in their oily to dry ratio.I'm a semi-pro I guess when it comes to oil painting, and I would definitely buy this again. (...but it won't be for a while... because I won't need to...)

Charles Leonard Inc. Flat Easel Stubby Brushes, 0.50 Inch, Natural Handles and Black Bristles, 1 Dozen (73150) Purchaser Review
I love these brushes for little jobs around the house. In the past, I would try to find thick, fairly stiff-bristled brushes of this size in the arts & crafts stores or at the hardware store...never successfully. These brushes are very durable, just the right size for little touch-up jobs, and inexpensive enough (under a dollar each) that if you use an oil-based paint or glue, you can throw them away instead of worrying about cleaning them (although they are so nice, it's hard to do). They are perfect for detailed painting next to window panes or difficult to remove hardware. They work well for trying to get glue into cracks or hard-to-reach areas. So far, after multiple uses, the bristles are staying in nicely, and are fine enough that they don't leave brush marks. And the wooden handles are so beautiful, I actually like holding them.

SetaSkriband Fabric Felt Tip Marker Set, Box of 6 Assorted Colors Buyer Review

SetaSkriband Fabric Felt Tip Marker Set, Box of 6 Assorted Colors Buyer Review
Ink doesn't bleed very much. Ink is very pigmented and soaks into material very well. The very tip of the marker is thin enough for some decent details, but the bulk of the tip is thick enough to distribute ink quickly/thickly. I used this to decorate 2 jersey pillow cases. I used 2 pens for the project: each pen still has a decent amount of ink in them for other projects but I wanted to use the "freshest" ink along with fresh tips to keep my project as crisp as possible. The amount of ink distributed a centimeter thick line (for my design) at least 10 feet long no problem with plenty ink to spare for another project (if that helps anyone judge how much ink is in the pen).Ink sets very well and runs through the wash without fading/peeling/cracking. I had done another project years back with same marker and whenever I felt like the design was less crisp I just touched it up with a pen and reset it with an iron. Very easy maintenance.I hope this review helps.

Levels Of Discovery Musical Bench Seat with Storage Blue/Multi Reviews

Levels Of Discovery Musical Bench Seat with Storage Blue/Multi Reviews
My son says this is his favorite part of his room. He loves playing they xylophones and turning the bells. The colors are bright and attractive. The toy space isn't very large and the hinge also interferes with some of the space, but it's perfect for smaller spaces. it also works very well as a bench. My biggest criticism is related to Amazon's packaging of the toy chest. They shipped it in the manufacturer's box which is flimsy cardboard and the pieces of the toy chest are not well packaged inside the box. The first one I ordered (using Prime) arrived with broken pieces. The Amazon rep was great and replaced it with even faster shipping. I think if she hadn't done that and the second box had to spend more time in delivery, it probably would have also arrived broken because the second box also looked worn and some of the inner styrofoam was broken. it's just not packed well inside the box and not well protected. Otherwise, the product itself is great.
- YM

We received this bench as a xmas present for our toddler. The box was slightly damaged, as we have noticed pretty much all furniture from Amazon is delivered. One of the arm pieces was split, which we had to glue and clamp back together, but it is now fully functional.Other people have commented on how little storage there is, but the entire bench portion is hollow, so there is as much storage as there possibly could be for a product this size. Maybe they were thinking that the bench were bigger? We haven't had this for too long yet, so I can't speak to its durability.
- B. Chu

I love the way it looks, but it is small so doesn't hold much. My son loves it though bc he can climb on it, and he does A LOT. I didn't use the wood glue in all the places you put screws and they fall out sometimes, so make sure you use the glue!! My son loves the things you spin on it too.
- Neptune5

Would have given it 5 stars if it would have been just a BIT bigger, but all in all a very nice wooden toy bench / box. Might be a hair overpriced too, but the value is in the construction of the parts - solid wood, easy directions, and it even comes with wood glue to help the pieces hold for longevity. We have 2-year-old twins, so I've put together my fair share of tables, toys, cribs, etc, and this was the sturdiest thing I've assembled thus far. I'm 220 lbs, and have no fear of sitting on this bench. Great birthday gift for our boys!
- M. Brunin

I was very impressed with the quality of the product as I was putting it together. My son loved it from the moment he saw it. He loves all the sounds and movement, and he interacts with it every time he sees it. I would highly recommend this for the quality.

Acrylic paints with numerical directions. This was good and my little man loved it. He said to me " HEY MOM!!!! I understand why your so quiet when you paint! You gotta think about what you're doing hu?" Getting quiet time while spending time with a 7 year old and 9 year old boys and getting you're job done .......... ahhhhh priceless.......

Mount Vision Pastel Company 15-Piece Dark Earth Set User Reviews

Mount Vision Pastel Company 15-Piece Dark Earth Set User Reviews
Wanted to try this brand. Great price offered...nice size, color combination, quality. Not a broken pastel in the box. Well packaged!
- D. Stein

I am enjoying these. They have a bit more grit/tooth than some of my other pastels but they are wonderful for the "in between" layers -- over the underpainting and under the final stages with the super soft pastels. The colors are rich and luminous even in the darker shades.
- C. Kauffman "drumwitch22"

Mount Vision pastels are thick, soft and provide rich colors. I've been working on landscapes that require earthy colors ranging anywhere from stark white to dark browns since the scenes are mountains and lakes in the snow. MV pastels lay down thickly and are as high a quality as the pricier Sennelier and Schmincke brands. Quality and reasonable price - very good product.

Apollo 11 moonwalker Neil Armstrong died on Aug. 25, 2012 at age 82, and NASA has posted a video tribute with an original song Tranquility Base by songwriter Eric Brace. Fittingly, the video starts with a 1960s era television set showing the first Moon landing were you watching on a TV like that on July 20, 1969 when Neil took those first steps on the Moon? The song begins:Tell me Neil, what you were thinkingWith all of us watching you on the TVTaking small steps and giant leaps and planting the flagIn a place no one had been.

Pentalic Multi Media Drawing Pad, 8-1/2-Inch by 11-Inch Buyer Reviews

Pentalic Multi Media Drawing Pad, 8-1/2-Inch by 11-Inch Buyer Reviews
I've tried a great number of different types of sketchbook over the years and I've never found one as comfortable to draw in as this one. It's about the size and shape of a child's coloring book, and thin enough that you can open the book completely flat along the spine. The tooth of the paper is on the heavy side (so it's not as good for thinner or harder pencil leads) but it takes soft pencil and colored pencil very well.

it is what it is. i ordered it for drawing and it will be perfect for that. i am not an artist but it seems to be a good weight for me.

Canson Universal Sketch Paper Pad 5.5 x 8.5 ": 100 Sheets Reviews

Canson Universal Sketch Paper Pad 5.5 x 8.5 ": 100 Sheets Reviews
This pad may be small, but I absolutely love it. My Copic pens don't bleed through, and I love how you can put it in your bag or such and take it anywhere.
- Iliannah

He's gone sketching almost immediately. As with his wife, they both now have their quiet times with what they enjoy the most; with his eyes looking at this handy little durable sketch pad (it is perforated so you can tear your work out from the sketch book if necessary) but little did he realize what else was coming up next, the artist's dream - the whole set of pencils to charcoals plus erasers galore. Just like his mom had used; wasted not a minute to say Thanks Mom! and got busy right away! The paper is top quality, non-glare, medium weight (from my standards of paper grading), has some texture to the paper itself; so it is not 100% smooth, which is good - prevents slippage and reducing errors as well as excessive erasures. This book is durable for usage of India Ink, for those who wants to practice with calligraphy or artwork with India Ink - I would recommend this after a sketch outlining has been done. For I have tested a sheet after asking my son, to see how it holds up from fine tip to wide (or broad tip) pens (India Ink) and it did pretty well with minimal bleeding so I would recommend a placard or a small smooth wood board if one opt for this. I tried using this with water color (after India Ink dried); to my surprise, it held up pretty good for a miniature canvas if carefully taken apart from the sketchbook.I found this to be impressive because of the quality of paper and grade, it is multipurpose; already aware it can handle pastels, crayons, pencils, coloring pens, et al.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!I just was informed by my married son .... "Mom, can you buy me another one for Father's Day please? I only have a few pages left!" Then I answered in total shock, "WHHHHHAATTTT?" He came and sat down; showing me all these designs - many of them on BOTH SIDES OF THE PAPER - some in ink, permanent ink, pencil, charcoal pencil and a couple in coloring pens - WOW! (In the back of my head was saying "Whoa Nellie, slow down there hoss")Not only was his work impressive, but I was certainly AMAZED how strong this book held up; and yes, it got caught in the rain a couple of times as well as 2 of his children who got into it that bent the back hardboard of the book; yet he carried on with his drawings. When I inquired if he would like a BIGGER book, his response was no - he wanted this Canson Universal Sketch Pad 5.5 x 8.5 because it was absolutely PERFECT and he still has his Pro Art 18-Piece Sketch/Draw Pencil Set that I purchased to go with it. Oh my goodness - he's already gone through 100 pages of this already since December 2011!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++July 20, 2012:Just purchased another one already! This one is for me this time around ... we sure do run them out! Top Notched quality paper - for ALL MEDIA: Pastels, Ink, Pencils, Chalk, - you name it - it can handle it!For FINE TIPPED PERMANENT INK - I have a spare thin white cardboard like which I insert between the pages; it does not bleed too much; but if you use bigger (broad tipped ink) it will bleed; however - it is excellent for practicing Calligraphy to Abstract Art including "wet blending" with Non-Permanent Ink.FOR INDIA INK - I strongly recommend a more sturdy cardboard in back between the pages after the sketch has been done; depending on what tip (point) you are using - remember this - this is a spiral bound book but it does not mean it is "hopeless", just turn the book upside down and work the other way around with India Ink and you can preserve your work inside but of course remember to let it dry first before your close the book.OIL TO WATERCOLOR (PAINTING) - same application as for India Ink. If you sketch lightly before you do watercolor painting; there is a way to "wash" the paper is by taking the wide brush and clean water and wet the paper by stroking it down but not completely saturated like other papers. You will be surprised how your water color artwork will come out in this manner.EXCELLENT PAPER FOR MINIATURE ARTWORK AND TATTOO GRAPHIC DESIGINING!* Both above gives you, the Professional to Hobbyist Artist the ability to keep and maintain all of your artwork (and tattoo graphics) in order.* For the Tattoo Professional; it is very easy to copy and trace with ease your customized graphics, even if the customer wants the graphic slightly altered you would not have any difficulties whatsoever.* An excellent portfolio that doesn't fade or yellow and can be dated and stored with ease! There's just too much to list in this handy book!STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BY ALL MEANS!
- S. Cline "Insanity Not Required Will Train"

I'm now at a point in my life where I have more time than before. I can finally pursue my love of the visual arts. I've always loved pen and ink with watercolor washes. It always amazes me how a court reporter artist can capture the essence of a situation within just a few minutes. While I don't expect to reach that level of skill, I enjoy taking this sketchbook with me and capturing thoughts, ideas, motifs. Combine this with a Sakura Pigma Micron Black pen set and a Sakura Pigma Color Brush pen set and I'm ready to take on those sketches. Some things that set this product apart from other sketchbooks:* First, it costs less than a lot of other sketchbooks. Always a good thing.* Second, it has more pages than many other sketchbooks.* Third, using my Sakura pens, I don't have any bleed through to the next page.* Fourth, the paper is micro-perforated. This allows you to quickly and neatly remove pages.* Fifth, the paper is acid-free. While it might not be archival quality it should last longer.* Finally, it's not just a "cute" size, it's VERY portable. As I said, I take it everywhere. So, I recommend this sketchbook. Your bank account will thank you as well.
- John B. Fisher

I had to buy these for our company's weekly Sketch Club, and everyone loves them. Great quality, sturdy enough to doodle on your lap if needed, and the pages can be easily torn out.
- bri

Honestly I didn't buy this sketch pad off of Amazon. I bought the one I have from an art supply store, I could have saved some money but it was worth what I ended up paying. The size is perfect if you, like me take your sketch book with you where ever you go. I wish I had found this one first since it is made from recycled paper. There's plenty of pages. I think it would make a wonderful, inexspensive gift for yourself or anyone.
- Christy L. Langford

just like the other reviewers said... so don't hesitate to get this pad. My 9 yr. old daughter loves it, and for the price, what can go wrong?
- GO "Beavs!!!"

I usually work with bigger sketch books, but I find I enjoy this one for quick sketches and when I'm really on the go. Canson is my favorite company to buy sketch books from as I enjoy the thickness of the paper and how well it take traditional media. These are a bit more lighter then the Mix Media sketchbooks, but can still take markers and other heavy mediums well.
- That_guy

As a beginner I was looking for a smaller area on which to sketch . This is perfect and the quality of the paper is excellent. I would recommend this size to kids and adults. Use both sides of the page. If you sketch from the front first, you can start again from the back, follow your progress and have fun at the same time.
- Paddie

I like this book. I bought two because the price was excellent but the shipping was too much. Plus side: I got the books in less than a week.Ink doesn't bleed onto the next sheet and the pages are smooth but have the right amount of texture that I was looking for. Will order the larger size next.
- DeBorah Pendleton

I'm using this sketchbook for watercolors. (I'm an artist and this is by no means what it's intended for; the weight of the paper is far too light to be considered watercolor paper.) The paper curls a tiny, but holds up to the watercolors. There's no bleed-through.Again, this is not its intended purpose, but I figure that gives an idea of what the weight of the paper is.Definitely recommend!

Sakura 30068 8-Piece Pigma Micron Clam Assorted Colors 01 Ink Pen Set Shopper Reviews

Sakura 30068 8-Piece Pigma Micron Clam Assorted Colors 01 Ink Pen Set Shopper Reviews
These are exceptional pens and have a multitude of uses! I use them to accentuate my Zentangles and my daughter used them in her pen and ink drawings. The colors are rich and don't bleed. Highly recommend these pens!
- fluffymom

These pens are WONDERFUL accessories for any serious Bible student. They write so smoothly but they do not bleed through the pages. The line is also very thin and won't bleed over into the words. HIGHLY recommended!
- Lindsay B. Beeman "Lindsay Blaire"

Most of these pens were out of ink after a few strokes, or never made a mark. This experience was very disappointing and frustrating when the expectation was high for a quality product. I have thrown them, along with the color set, away.
- Rita Breath

top 5 and least expensive of good pens for comic and manga drawing. on a price to quality issue, these are the best, yes there are better, but unless you are publishing I have no idea why people buy them.
- E. Thomas "nj shopper"

I just received these pens today. I was super excited to use them, so opened them right away. Started testing them and the blue wouldn't work. After a couple of tries, the ink started flowing everywhere making a big mess! Two - three of the other colors are not working/very light. I am disappointed and want my money back. These are going in the trash.
- Rachel Krause

I had the same experience as a previous reviewer...half of the pens were dry when first used or dried after very little use. I have used several other of these pens and they lasted months. The ones I used before were not packaged as Zentangle pens.Very disappointing .
- Eilzabeth Boynton

If you write with a miniscule hand like I do, you need pens with an extremely fine, precise line. These are perfect for the job (just make sure to get the 01 size.) I spent a long time trying to find the pen with the narrowest imaginable line, and Pigma Micron 01 is now my preferred variety. It's a boon that they're inexpensive, widely available, and come in a variety of colors. It's even better that they use waterproof and fade proof ink, so when I'm writing in my journals I don't have to be afraid of losing text if the page should ever get damp. There's only one drawback to these pens, which is why I refrained from giving them the full five stars: after using a given pen for a while, the point begins to retract into its sheathe, until it gets to the point where it has completely retracted and I have to hold the pen directly perpendicular to the paper in order to write effectively, which is annoying. I've experimented with the 05 size and they don't do this--I think the thicker point makes it a bit more stable--but I usually prefer to write with the 01s. I'm thinking of experimenting with some 02s, 03s, and 04s if I can find them. Oh, I also wouldn't recommend bringing this type of pen during air travel... they're prone to leaking sometimes on planes (not every time, but often enough that's it's worth being cautious.) Despite these drawbacks, these are still my favorite pens.
- Verre

These pens are fabulous. I underline in my Bible and there is not one trace of it on the other side of the page. Also, it is a fine line which makes underlining easier.
- leelee

I was expecting Better Quality color from these but they weren't worth it the only good colors were red black and brown the other were too light to be used in a really good drawing!
- Carlos Estrada

Good quality. I would have given five stars if there was a yellow pen... I knew what colors were available when I made the purchase, but now that I'm using them, my advise to the manufacturer is to provide the extra color.
