The Daily Reader Recent Reviews

I expected this book as a gift, and I'm thankful I did. Its day after day readings, all less than a page long, give bounty of grist for idea. It has introduced me to new angles of investigation and new sources of in rank, which will doubtless take up again to affect my prose long after I put this book up your sheath. But many of the author's offerings are exceptionally ambitious. In just one day's conception, he actually expects us to examine Margarat Mead's body of work? Or the description of the Pharaohs, the newest developments in physics, or day after day life in a unsociable polish? If I had that kind of time and cash, I wouldn't need a day after day booklover for motivation. To get the best use from this book, I've chosen to snub the dates and do just one concept at a time. I can get more done, and do it best, if I set my own schedule very than by the author's. This is a good book, with promising suggestions. Just use it your own way to get the most good out of it.

The Daily Booklover caught my eye when browsing at my community book pile, and when I saw that one of the excerpts is from The Library at Nocturnal, that closed the deal and I brought it home and began reading immediately. This book could be a neat Christmas gift for a book lover and aspiring writer; the selections are laid out in calendar order. They are just morsels, but can place you hungry for more. After the book quote Colorless adds his own relections and then a writing prompt united in including the theme of each exerpt. There is also a subject pointer which shows a wide scope of topic areas from anthropology through history, medicine and health, all the way to writing. To me, this is be fond of Gump's box of chocolates. I eagerly anticipate opening up the box and considering what unattractively discover next. I am jotting down the sources of the most tempting samples so that I can buffet on more shortly.

Painting Streams, Rocks, and Trees in Watercolor Customer Reviews

This record is very useful to me. When I'm starring at a bemused page of document or when I feel like my style is being paid too forceful, I watch this. It actually helps with both. Tony Couch is a pretty good lecturer and one of the equipment I be grateful for about him is that when he does a in tears, he tells you why he's dependability it. This helps with the mental game of watercolor. Aptly after I bought it, I painted the painting in the record and then the very next painting I did turned out to be the best I've ever done.
- 747 Captain "It's all about Jesus."

Possibly I didn't read the description on this but the camera angles can be poor at era with his hand in the way, and he reminds me of watching the Bob Ross guy on box. Their isn't a whole lot of instruction, but very, equipment like... We'll add a tree here, and how about some rocks over here. Henjust talks a lot while he paints. But their isn't much instruction and actually this is not a paint along video. I'm not sure what I was in the family way, but this definitely disastrous in my book. And, worse yet is that I bought two different ones and both were done by him! What was I thinking!
- flutelady

I borrowed this strip early our store and it is a extremely skilled culture source. Tony Couch is an exceptional teacher and employs a style including the intention of can be worn-made known by students at all levels. I be inflicted including release been painting for less than 1 year keep for be inflicted including been competent to pause on his directions and am early to "get on to it". The title was a modest ambiguous for me. I planning he was going to trade show innumerable traditions to paint fill up, rocks, and plants keep for it is in detail 1 full taste out painting containing all of these nitty-stark. This painting is a piece extra difficult including the intention of in the other Couch videos I be inflicted including seen keep for he tells the viewer what he is tiresome to do at each step so the insight into his administer is value extra than only duplicating this 1 painting. Tony is extremely skilled at demonstrating dampness & regard control. The presentation, control, and audio in this strip are commonly skilled and I would urge it to anyone who likes Tony's painting style.
- A. Brearley

Wonderful presentation by famous artist. There is lot to gather for the beginning watercolorist, and for advanced as well.I would urge this VHS tape to everybody. Persons who like aquarel painting, or just to preview and take pleasure in Mr. Tony Couch at bring about.
- mamicka

My local library had 3 videos by Tony Dress up and this was one of them. Tony Dress up considered under Edgar Whitney. Dress up paints quite fast and talks a little fast. This record is splendid to mind and learn from, and I tenderness the way Tony adds splashes of bright affect to his paintings to liven it up. In this record, he teaches a lot about painting rocks and how to convey approximate water among the stream rocks, and also you will learn about painting trees. It's a splendid record, but I force see if it's at the library before I paid $20-30 dollars for it. I watched it about 4 era,and all calculate I got something new out of it.
- silky69

Tony Couch is one of the best in wet on wet technique. If you would like to improve this way of painting watercolors, you must buy this DVD.

Yasutomo Pearlescent Watercolor Set, 21-Colors User Reviews

I was impressed when my daughter sat down to paint with this watercolor set. I am used to the dollar store crayola watercolors, and was in the family way a light wash to grow when she at the start began stroking her brush across the page. Not so!! These insignia and sharp and vivid and strong. A little dab of paint and they really make their mark. Well value the money, and I would buy them again.
- PSSinPHX

These paints actually enthusiasm! Sorry to say if whatever business brushes up hostile to them as dried, a bit of the sparkles does come off, but it is not excessive. The sign are kind and rich as well.
- Kasi Maria Christensen

I bought these idea that I don't know I could mix them with my pre-void palette for numerous illustration projects I do on and off. I cultured owing to trial and error that these paints do not mix well at all with pre-void 'habitual' watercolors. The glitziness tends to come off and kind of muddies up the paints when you use them wet-on-wet or when you are tiresome to mix with other sign.I think if one were to use them as a finisher (like shining ordinary) over by now dried sign, you would be fine and it would lend a enthusiasm to your projects. Even if, as part of a habitual palette, I don't think they work well.
- Christine D. Sumpter "CanesGalactica"

I ordered these insignia after reasonably a bit of online research and am pleased to share that they did not disappoint me as they indoors. The insignia are wonderful and just gorgeous:).They are all extremely richly pigmented and the shimmer is extremely nearly sensuous. The less noteworthy water one uses, the more intense they are and the intensity is luxurious.More water lets them be sheer and shimmery. The variety of insignia and the color families built-in are extremely interesting,This makes them perfect for calligraphy too.The price is extremely reasonable.I do wish, even if,that the shipping didn't deprivation me as much as the box itself:)!
- Shruti "artyzenworld"

Do not be fooled by the image provided. The paint wells are not full to the top... not even half full. I like the paint itself, just feeling a bit ripped off on quantity.
- easelqueen "easelqueen"

I received this set a few days ago and used it before today. It gave great color and enthusiasm. I ordered it because I wanted a little bit of enthusiasm on particular areas of my watercolor landscapes, be fond of rivers, brooks, etc. and I ended up using just this set to paint a very nice landscape. unattractively definitely order it over again.
- Sulen1031

(May 2012) I use a waterbrush pen (fill up is in the soubriquet) and these paints to affect stamped descriptions for my handmade cards--the feature and might of affect is fantastic. Here is a huge shine including the intention of doesn't wipe off or stain. Its not sparkly, but definitely noticable--irridescent actually is the most excellent stretch. I not release urge, I will *categorically* be export this set ended again.(July 2013) Bring up to date: I'm soothe by this set all the calculate and pocket up again to kindness it. I urge by an eyedropper to add a few drops of fill up to all cake a few outline previous to you're equipped to paint--this will categorically yield a stronger shade and won't be sheer. You can also layer colors on top of all additional, but I recommend let one shade dry previous to adding the following. Bags of fun!
- BostonJen "jensch"

tenderness the viberant sign.....I only tenderness it I will be purchasing a further one quickly as I am through with this one well worth it.
- marychue

VERY pretty pearlescent water insignia.Just scan the additional reviews. They speak truth. :)I was scared the insignia would be too light, but they're perfect. Just adjust how much water you use if you need to.I love how they shimmer.
- Emmy

These watercolors beyond doubt leave a great sheen/enthusiasm to your print piantings. I like to use them just as highlights. They dry nicely, with a lot of shine to them. Exact, just what I was in tension for! A little will go a long way. Primarily if you use like me, just for highlighting fastidious parts of the paintings. I have not done a whole painting using only these sign, I think that would be TOO much. These little color bricks/blocks/whatever you call them, are thin, there is doubtless not as much in each well as you might suppose. But like I said, a little goes a long way! Primarily after it dries, you will see that what you planning was NOT near ample paint, will indeed dry to a spectacular shimmery shine that you sought after. One thing to note is that even if there was a slot for it at the front of the case when you open it, there is NOT a brush that comes with this set. You'll have to use your own brush. I make sure to use a small thin tipped one, and only wet the brick a little bit. Clean the brush between each color! These sign are just too darn sweet to get them all messed and mixed up with other sign. Take care of them, and this great set of sign will last you for quite a long time. I gave it 5 stars-- the price was just amazing.
