48 Jumbo Size OIL Pastels for Drawing & Art Purchaser Reviews

48 Jumbo Size OIL Pastels for Drawing & Art Purchaser ReviewsI ordinarily rather gentle pastels, so this hold was pro experimental purposes. I by currently owned a release just any of the more high-priced sticks. These are generous and easier to grip than approximately of the additional brands, save pro not as cream. Periodic diminishing in masonry spirits solves this. Skilled pro beginners.
- Lynne Renzenberger

We purchased these for our daughter who is actually lacking to become an actor. They have a professional feel and worked very well.My daughter washed-out most the day Christmas depiction with them and was responsibility such a splendid job.Packaging was very solid, and the items travel well in the mail.
- Curtis A. Cecil

It may only be that smear including oil pastels aren't my cup of tea, since before to export this fit I had by no means old them before to and except extra high-priced sets are a whole ration best than this, I be inflicted including no appeal in by this medium over again. Early what I be inflicted including read on the theme, a feature fit of smear including oil pastels will be inflicted including extra of a powder homogeny. These though, are beyond disbelief extra be fond of a pallid. I would be inflicted including agreed them two stars, keep pro I mediate they were only $10 at the calculate I purchased them and I don't aspire to unsympathetically rank a touch that I don't admit a splendid take care of business in this vicinity.

....because they are very very hard. Soft oil pastel sets are revered because they blend so well. But now and again you need a hard pastel/opaque to correct mistakes; to over-enter a mistake. Also, if you lay down a base layer of these, because they are so hard, you can scratch the softer pastel layers higher than them off and start over. The white stick alone is worth the cost of the set. Why? Because the white is so hard/opaque as to push the softer colors out of the way. For instance: Try creating blue water and waves with white-caps with a soft set of oil pastels. With these you can use white to go right over dark no problem. Oil pastels are hard to use because you have to place the white part of the paper exposed to create highlights. Not with these. You can use the white stick right over dark akin to oil paints...and the white will be bright white! When my wife initially bought these and I tried them and thought, "These are junk because they are so hard and don't blend well", BUT then I was having vex putting white-caps on top of waves in a water vista when I exposed the white stick solved my problem beautifully! I was smiling from ear to ear. You really do need a variety of hardnesses of oil pastels sets. I recommend these as a "supplemental" set rather than as a stand alone set. Hope this helps the artist that is thinking about these and reading this review.
- S. WATSON

My 14 yo daughter is extremely fortunate including these. They were low-priced and are exactly as described - we have and will continue to get on to purchases from ProArt
- B. Short "Purchaser Extraordinaire"

Nice sized pastels, they feel great in my hand. Easy to use and mix together. I've used them in multiple mixed media projects and have been satisfied every time. highly recommend.
- Angela Oas

I'm not an actor at all, got them for my daughter for Christmas. I didn't see any alteration between these and a good set of crayons.
- Mr. Raymond Wroten

Manufactured goods is good, even if, the size of the manufactured goods does NOT deserve the word "giant" to be put on the label. These pastels are mean size, and I expected a box of 48 of them, what one would guess for a apprentice manufactured goods. I was disappointed in the size of the manufactured goods and was throughly misled by the packaging.
- Janice Spears

Don't hesitate to peacefulness these pastels they are very nice!! Bought them so my niece and I could possibly be creative collectively. Will buy them ended again when we use these ones up.
- dlj

splendid for price, you think you are gettng a deal but the pastels dont rub off they are actually stiff its hard to draw with them since the affect barely applies onto document or canvas

Small size stores easily in a file with graph paper. This one has a good selection of furniture shapes with sizes noted on the template. I use this several times a year and my larger templates have been hard to store, and then difficult to find.
- Lynda

This template does not include enough sizes and shapes to represent today's real-world furniture, making it limited in its usefulness.

Pro Art 11-Inch French Curve Reviews

Pro Art 11-Inch French Curve Reviews
couldn't find in my local art store for some reason, but found it here so haha love it .. .
- bluecobra

I appreciate the fast service, and the product is the same as I've seen in art supply stores but this one had a price tag that's more affordable. It also came with a handy pouch you can keep it in or hang on the wall above your work space.
- bj merr

This is a simple clear French Curve with no markings. I used it to enlarge a pattern recently and it work fine. It was a thick enough plastic to not crack when dropped and it is see through. The only change I would make is to add ruler markings.

Canson Universal Sketch Paper Pad 5.5 x 8.5 ": 100 Sheets Reviews

Canson Universal Sketch Paper Pad 5.5 x 8.5 ": 100 Sheets Reviews
This pad may be small, but I absolutely love it. My Copic pens don't bleed through, and I love how you can put it in your bag or such and take it anywhere.
- Iliannah

He's gone sketching almost immediately. As with his wife, they both now have their quiet times with what they enjoy the most; with his eyes looking at this handy little durable sketch pad (it is perforated so you can tear your work out from the sketch book if necessary) but little did he realize what else was coming up next, the artist's dream - the whole set of pencils to charcoals plus erasers galore. Just like his mom had used; wasted not a minute to say Thanks Mom! and got busy right away! The paper is top quality, non-glare, medium weight (from my standards of paper grading), has some texture to the paper itself; so it is not 100% smooth, which is good - prevents slippage and reducing errors as well as excessive erasures. This book is durable for usage of India Ink, for those who wants to practice with calligraphy or artwork with India Ink - I would recommend this after a sketch outlining has been done. For I have tested a sheet after asking my son, to see how it holds up from fine tip to wide (or broad tip) pens (India Ink) and it did pretty well with minimal bleeding so I would recommend a placard or a small smooth wood board if one opt for this. I tried using this with water color (after India Ink dried); to my surprise, it held up pretty good for a miniature canvas if carefully taken apart from the sketchbook.I found this to be impressive because of the quality of paper and grade, it is multipurpose; already aware it can handle pastels, crayons, pencils, coloring pens, et al.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!I just was informed by my married son .... "Mom, can you buy me another one for Father's Day please? I only have a few pages left!" Then I answered in total shock, "WHHHHHAATTTT?" He came and sat down; showing me all these designs - many of them on BOTH SIDES OF THE PAPER - some in ink, permanent ink, pencil, charcoal pencil and a couple in coloring pens - WOW! (In the back of my head was saying "Whoa Nellie, slow down there hoss")Not only was his work impressive, but I was certainly AMAZED how strong this book held up; and yes, it got caught in the rain a couple of times as well as 2 of his children who got into it that bent the back hardboard of the book; yet he carried on with his drawings. When I inquired if he would like a BIGGER book, his response was no - he wanted this Canson Universal Sketch Pad 5.5 x 8.5 because it was absolutely PERFECT and he still has his Pro Art 18-Piece Sketch/Draw Pencil Set that I purchased to go with it. Oh my goodness - he's already gone through 100 pages of this already since December 2011!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++July 20, 2012:Just purchased another one already! This one is for me this time around ... we sure do run them out! Top Notched quality paper - for ALL MEDIA: Pastels, Ink, Pencils, Chalk, - you name it - it can handle it!For FINE TIPPED PERMANENT INK - I have a spare thin white cardboard like which I insert between the pages; it does not bleed too much; but if you use bigger (broad tipped ink) it will bleed; however - it is excellent for practicing Calligraphy to Abstract Art including "wet blending" with Non-Permanent Ink.FOR INDIA INK - I strongly recommend a more sturdy cardboard in back between the pages after the sketch has been done; depending on what tip (point) you are using - remember this - this is a spiral bound book but it does not mean it is "hopeless", just turn the book upside down and work the other way around with India Ink and you can preserve your work inside but of course remember to let it dry first before your close the book.OIL TO WATERCOLOR (PAINTING) - same application as for India Ink. If you sketch lightly before you do watercolor painting; there is a way to "wash" the paper is by taking the wide brush and clean water and wet the paper by stroking it down but not completely saturated like other papers. You will be surprised how your water color artwork will come out in this manner.EXCELLENT PAPER FOR MINIATURE ARTWORK AND TATTOO GRAPHIC DESIGINING!* Both above gives you, the Professional to Hobbyist Artist the ability to keep and maintain all of your artwork (and tattoo graphics) in order.* For the Tattoo Professional; it is very easy to copy and trace with ease your customized graphics, even if the customer wants the graphic slightly altered you would not have any difficulties whatsoever.* An excellent portfolio that doesn't fade or yellow and can be dated and stored with ease! There's just too much to list in this handy book!STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BY ALL MEANS!
- S. Cline "Insanity Not Required Will Train"

I'm now at a point in my life where I have more time than before. I can finally pursue my love of the visual arts. I've always loved pen and ink with watercolor washes. It always amazes me how a court reporter artist can capture the essence of a situation within just a few minutes. While I don't expect to reach that level of skill, I enjoy taking this sketchbook with me and capturing thoughts, ideas, motifs. Combine this with a Sakura Pigma Micron Black pen set and a Sakura Pigma Color Brush pen set and I'm ready to take on those sketches. Some things that set this product apart from other sketchbooks:* First, it costs less than a lot of other sketchbooks. Always a good thing.* Second, it has more pages than many other sketchbooks.* Third, using my Sakura pens, I don't have any bleed through to the next page.* Fourth, the paper is micro-perforated. This allows you to quickly and neatly remove pages.* Fifth, the paper is acid-free. While it might not be archival quality it should last longer.* Finally, it's not just a "cute" size, it's VERY portable. As I said, I take it everywhere. So, I recommend this sketchbook. Your bank account will thank you as well.
- John B. Fisher

I had to buy these for our company's weekly Sketch Club, and everyone loves them. Great quality, sturdy enough to doodle on your lap if needed, and the pages can be easily torn out.
- bri

Honestly I didn't buy this sketch pad off of Amazon. I bought the one I have from an art supply store, I could have saved some money but it was worth what I ended up paying. The size is perfect if you, like me take your sketch book with you where ever you go. I wish I had found this one first since it is made from recycled paper. There's plenty of pages. I think it would make a wonderful, inexspensive gift for yourself or anyone.
- Christy L. Langford

just like the other reviewers said... so don't hesitate to get this pad. My 9 yr. old daughter loves it, and for the price, what can go wrong?
- GO "Beavs!!!"

I usually work with bigger sketch books, but I find I enjoy this one for quick sketches and when I'm really on the go. Canson is my favorite company to buy sketch books from as I enjoy the thickness of the paper and how well it take traditional media. These are a bit more lighter then the Mix Media sketchbooks, but can still take markers and other heavy mediums well.
- That_guy

As a beginner I was looking for a smaller area on which to sketch . This is perfect and the quality of the paper is excellent. I would recommend this size to kids and adults. Use both sides of the page. If you sketch from the front first, you can start again from the back, follow your progress and have fun at the same time.
- Paddie

I like this book. I bought two because the price was excellent but the shipping was too much. Plus side: I got the books in less than a week.Ink doesn't bleed onto the next sheet and the pages are smooth but have the right amount of texture that I was looking for. Will order the larger size next.
- DeBorah Pendleton

I'm using this sketchbook for watercolors. (I'm an artist and this is by no means what it's intended for; the weight of the paper is far too light to be considered watercolor paper.) The paper curls a tiny, but holds up to the watercolors. There's no bleed-through.Again, this is not its intended purpose, but I figure that gives an idea of what the weight of the paper is.Definitely recommend!

Pro Art 4-Inch 45/90-Degree Triangle, Smoke Purchaser Reviews

Pro Art 4-Inch 45/90-Degree Triangle, Smoke Purchaser Reviews
Great product! I use it for weekly drafting, and I have no complaints whatsoever. If you need a 45/90 triangle, buy this now.
- Becs

I bought this triangle to help with laying out cut lines for woodworking. I bought the smallest and largest sizes to accommodate varying sizes of wood, and I find them very handy for their purpose. I got "smoke" rather than clear, which is easier to find in a busy shop, but you can still see through it. The small one is a bit darker in color than the large one.I don't have a precision tool to measure accuracy of the 45 degree angles, but the accuracy looks quite good. The right angle is as close as I can feel when placed against a precision aluminum alignment tool. This drawing triangle is very useful for drafting and for use in layout in the shop.I might have prefered that it was a bright color instead of grey, simply so that it can be spotted more quickly.BOTTOM LINE: Four stars means "I Like It". I reserve five stars that exceed expectations in some way. This tool does its job well and I have no complaints about it, but there are many others similar in quality and price, and this one is as good, but not better.
- Mark Colan "duke-of-url"

It's gray, triangular, cheap and shipped in a hurry. If you need a big triangle for drafting or setting up machinery (table saws, etc), you need one of these. Too bad it's not available in neon pink, though.
