Jack Richeson Best Medium Duty Stretcher Bar, 20-Inch

BEST Medium Duty Pine Stretcher Bars are Made in the USA, by Wisconsin Craftsmen, and are available from 8-inch to 72-inch. BEST Bars are made of fingerjointed wood to provide for greater strength and straightness of your bars. Our beefy 1-1/4-inch by 1-1/2-inch profile supports very large works and allows for gallery wrapping of your canvas. We recommend cross bracing any dimension over 36-inch. Cross bracing prevents bowing of the wood and helps keep your artwork square and flat over time. We recommend our BEST Key System be installed on all stretched canvas to enable easy tightening of your canvas should wrinkles appear in the future. Jack Richeson Hardboard Corners also offer a professional look to your work making sure you canvas corners stay square and true. Jack Richeson's BEST Stretcher Bars speak for the highest quality available, and one of the last American producers. Your artwork deserves better than to say "Made in China". Jack Richeson Shiva Oil Paintstik, Iridescent Colors, Set of 12 Reviews

Jack Richeson Shiva Oil Paintstik, Iridescent Colors, Set of 12 Reviews
The Shiva Iridescent Paint Sticks were perfect. Brand new, nicely packaged and received in a timely manner.

These paintstiks are the greatest thing for me - I love usng them with rubbing plates to make beautiful patterns on fabric and they are so easy to use.

I used the Pentel oil pastels in a class for Shiva oil crayons. The class made me want to work with these adult craft supplies! The paint sticks were used in a stencil manner. The results with the Pentel oil pastels were good, but I think the paint sticks have a bigger range of color, and I suspect are faster to work with.

This is a great set of colors to use. The painsticks work great for stenciling on fabric. Use a paper towel or rag to peel away the thin layer on the outside of the paint tip. As it is oil paint, be sure to clean your brushes afterwards. Let the paint dry for 24 hours before doing a final heat set.

These pigments are great for multiple applications. They can be used like crayons on paper or canvas and can even be blended with each other to a certain extent. They are also applicable to fabrics requiring just a couple of simple steps to fix them. In all applications you need to let them dry out completely (24-48 hours) and then they are permanent. On fabric, after 24 hours, heat set with a dry iron and you are good to go. I have even successfully laundered the pieces and the paintstik art has not suffered a bit (t-shirt application). I would not recommend paintstiks for wall treatments however (faux finishes and stencils and such) except in a very limited way. They would work for the wall and be permanent (I'm doing an all over wall stencil in the gold iridescent paintstik right now) BUT there is a fair amount of the paintstik pigment that crumbles off as you apply the pigment to the somewhat rough wall surface. This results in a lot of little pieces from the paintstik that can then be smeared accidentally and ruin your design. Use Delta stencil creme/paint for that kind of job. The iridescence in this set is not super sparkly but its there. Some of the colors appear more iridescent than others. Since this is an oil based pigment, the crayons themselves dry out. So, be aware that every time you use these crayons (including new out of the box) you will have to pare away the outer skin or even a crusted outer surface to get down to the moist inner pigment before you can start using the paintstik. But that means they form their own seal and will last a very long time. So they look like big fat crayons and you can draw with them like big fat crayons but a little preparation before and after is necessary. Pretty cool, all in all.

Wonderful and brilliant metallic effects that can be combined with other oils oil mediums for a great effect.

I really enjoy these paintsiks, I get really aggressive and expressive with them and they are very fun, I love the colors they produce.
