Pentalic Multi Media Drawing Pad, 8-1/2-Inch by 11-Inch Buyer Reviews

Pentalic Multi Media Drawing Pad, 8-1/2-Inch by 11-Inch Buyer Reviews
I've tried a great number of different types of sketchbook over the years and I've never found one as comfortable to draw in as this one. It's about the size and shape of a child's coloring book, and thin enough that you can open the book completely flat along the spine. The tooth of the paper is on the heavy side (so it's not as good for thinner or harder pencil leads) but it takes soft pencil and colored pencil very well.

it is what it is. i ordered it for drawing and it will be perfect for that. i am not an artist but it seems to be a good weight for me.

Pentalic Nature Sketch Pad, 7-Inch by 5-Inch Recent Review

Pentalic Nature Sketch Pad, 7-Inch by 5-Inch Recent Review
The sketchbook is 99% perfect. It has wonderful slightly off-white paper that is heavy without being bulky. It works with wet media including watercolors and watercolor crayons which require a bit more water and scrubbing. Also wonderful for acrylics, pencils, inks and pastels. This is top notch paper that has a nice light tooth so not too smooth or too rough. I do mixed media and use this as a small artists journal so I throw all sorts of things at the pages includes staples, sewing and brads. The spiral binding is big but not too big which allows it to lay flat. The spiral does tend to work itself out a little over time so a quick spin now and then puts it back in its proper place. I actually like that it's not a metal spiral. I've crushed metal bindings into mangled pancakes and I've never damaged this binding. So what's not to love? The cover is a flimsy sheet of paper not as heavy as the interior pages. Go figure. What I do is laminate four pages together by covering the pages to be stuck together with glue of some sort (even glue stick works), put a heavy weight on it, sop up any glue that escapes and let it dry. My make-do cover works fine. These people make a great product I have absolutely no idea why they don't give us a real front cover. The back cover is super heavy cardboard (emphasis on the board part) which gives great support. I just want a cover that protects my hard work as well.

moleskine has taken a dive in quality over the past year or so. time to start looking at other books. the only real complaint as noted above is the thinness of the paper. scanners will occasional pick up images from the reverse of the page. really detracts from an otherwise well made book

Many years ago while I was in a college bookstore I noticed these notebooks being sold. Their price was quite a bit less than the leading competitor. I bought several. I use them to do drawings while I'm in church and out of various activities. I have a visual journal of activities that it happened to me and the people involved. The quality is good for Canon ink and pencil. I have not tried it with watercolors. I have used colored pencils and that's excellent also.

The Pentallic Sletchbook is one of my favorite besides the Moleskine. The black leather like cover is wonderful and sturdy. The Only problem would be the pages bleeding through like even with graphite I can see through the pages so no front to back drawings. Also don't rip anything out because the binding of the book isn't well bonded( it's bonded with strings) overall very statisfied and love it! I take it everywhere I go!
